Munk School Politics Society

A Student Leadership Initiative at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy

Our Mission

The Munk School Politics Society (MSPS) is a non-partisan student leadership initiative that aims to expose future leaders to the political process and potential careers in politics.

Our Events

MSPS is hosting several flagship events over the school year, including the Munk School first ever Model First Ministers’ Conference , an interactive Speaker Series featuring politicians and public servants from around the world, and a polling case competition. These events will provide students a chance to deepen their understanding of the interplay between politics & geopolitics and the world of global affairs & public policy.

Our Model First Ministers’ Conference will be an opportunity for students to take on the role of political actors and their senior staff negotiating on policy topics of global importance. It will be an opportunity to develop your understanding of the political and geopolitical contexts that shape the decisions taken by leaders and policy-makers across the globe.

Our speaker series will be an opportunity to speak with and learn from experienced political and government figures from Canada and elsewhere, and - in doing so - to build your understanding of the interplay between politics, geopolitics, and policy.

Our polling case competition will be an opportunity to delve into the world of public opinion and to develop your understanding of the way in which opinion shapes policymakers’ reality by taking the role of pollsters over the course of an ongoing provincial election.
